EUB301 – Assessment 1 Page 1 of 7 ASSESSMENT TASK INFORMATION: EUB301 Assessment 2 – Critique (written) This document provides you with information about the requirements for your assessment. Detailed instructions and resources are included for completing the task. The Criterion Reference Assessment (CRA) Rubric that markers use to grade the assessment task is included. Task overview Assessment name Critique (written) Task description After attending a live arts performance, you are required to submit a critique that connects your personal experiences of the performance with your developing knowledge of primary performance arts education. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. the student lives in a regional or remote area without access to a ticketed live performance), a recording of a live performance can be viewed. Performances that are free of charge can be accompanied by alternative evidence of attendance if a ticket is not supplied. This task will assess your: 1. Use of performing arts terms to describe and interpret a live arts performance and arts-based practices. 2. Understanding of audience engagement in performing arts education, drawing on the relationship between making and responding. 3. Academic communication and literacy. Quality arts pedagogy is inextricably linked with the dispositions and attitudes of the teacher. During the semester, you are required to attend a live professional performance of the performing arts (Dance, Drama or Music). You are to include the EUB301 readings in your assignment, marks will be awarded for the citation of unit readings (see rubric). This is an authentic assessment because it introduces you to a fundamental aspect of performing arts education: being an audience member. The Australian Curriculum: The Arts places equal importance on appreciating the performing arts as it does on children creating or performing their own arts works. Due Date Friday 2nd June 2023 submitted in your Canvas site via Turnitin by 11.59pm.
